Power Pilates

Power Pilates has been operating since 1989, and running certification programs since 1997. They are
committed to honoring the integrity of the methods of Joseph Pilates (classical pilates) and to teaching
with fresh and innovative techniques.  The classical style Power Pilates programs are based on the
principle that before working the peripheral parts of the body, the core needs to be strong and stable.
This is developed through their classical-systematic-integrative approach to Pilates training.

Lotus School of Thai Yoga Massage Bodywork

Lotus Palm teaches a form of Thai Yoga Massage that caters to the tastes and demands of Western society.
It takes into consideration how people in North America tend to overuse their back, neck and shoulders and
wish for considerably more attention to those general areas. We adhere to an integrated approach that honors
the traditions of Thai Massage and establishes its Indian ayurvedic heritage but which tries to blend the
strengths of both Eastern and Western approaches to healthy living. As such special attention is given to the
effects of the massage on the skeletal, circulatory, muscular and nervous system. The lotus is a symbol of
loving-kindness and compassion, as such ‘Lotus Palm’ means “the compassionate touch” which is the spirit
of our school and our work. Perhaps the most vital element in the practice of Thai Yoga Massage is to bring a
spirit of unconditional love and compassion to your work (metta). With spiritual awareness you generate your
natural healing powers and develop genuine satisfaction that comes from within.

Tiiu Gennert (Maheshwari)

Tiiu is certified as a Sivananda Hatha Yoga Instructor (Yoga Acharya, Master of Yoga,
M.Y.) and a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 Hour Level.  She is also trained and
certified in methods of deep relaxation, meditation, and adapting yoga to life threatening
illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.  Tiiu has been practicing yoga since 1997
when a close friend in law school inspired her to explore the benefits of yoga.

Tiiu has a background in biology, anthropology and public health.  She has found
Sivananda yoga to be a perfect complement to her academic training because of its
scientific approach to holistic health.  Tiiu has always enjoyed a variety of team and
individual sports, and is fascinated with the way in which yoga practice combines
strength, flexibility and mental poise for a healthier and more fulfilling life.  She is
inspired by the way in which yoga practice integrates into her daily life as well as the
lives of her students.  The practice of yoga is a constant learning process as one
searches for truth and enlightenment from within.  Tiiu strives to create a safe and
positive environment in which her students are comfortable learning, exploring
and challenging themselves.

Pink Lotus Yoga (Marcia Camino, R.Y.T.)

Pink Lotus Yoga began in 2004 w
hen Marcia Camino decided to make yoga in Cleveland her life.
She has witnessed in her hometown a huge need for yoga and considers it her purpose to enrich
her community through it.

It functions
under the philosophy that yoga is both a science and an art and that students come to
yoga for a wide variety of reasons; therefore, PLY is a yoga business that caters to a very diverse
range of people.
As a name it is derived from a blending of two of Marcia's favorite elements:  a constant love for the
color pink, and respect for the lotus flower, which historically symbolizes resiliency and spirituality.

Marcia Camino is knowledgeable of and loves many styles of yoga: Amrit, Sivananda, Satyananda,
Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Nidra, and Kundalini.
She is rooted in Amrit Yoga, her classes and private instruction offer students an intelligent, inspired,
eclectic, and poetic yoga journey.
Marcia received training with the Amrit Yoga Institute and from internationally acclaimed yogis and
teachers Rodney Yee, Shakta Kaur Khalsa, and Manouso Manos.  She lives with her husband Joseph
in Lakewood, has a beautiful dog named Harper, and enjoys taking art classes and writing.

Capoeira
Capoeira is a martial art created by African slaves transported to Brasil 500 years ago.
It was created in secret as a means for the slaves to protect themselves.  In order to fool
the slavemasters, Capoeira was disguised as a ritual dance, this allowed Capoeiristas to
play in plain view of their owners, as it was illegal under penalty of imprisonment and/or
death, for slaves to practice the martial arts.
Today, Capoeira is a rich cultural experience with exchanges of ideas of peoples from all
over the world. Capoeira is "played", from the United States of America to South Africa,
from the European Union to Japan and just about everywhere in between.  Capoeira can
be highly energetic and powerful to calm and serene.
Capoeira is a lifetime of discipline, showing respect to the culture that spawned it, to the
nation that cultivated it, to those who came before us, and to those we will teach that will
follow us on the path of Axe.

over 12 years.  Its qualified and caring staff provides you with an effective, comfortable, and
healing experience.  Aromatherapy, moist heat compresses and gentle, soothing music are all

Thai Massage Cleveland
Thai massage is a unique form of bodywork that incorporates Hatha Yoga, acupressure, and
reflexology with origins dating back to about 2,500 years.
Unlike the kneading and continuous strokes of Western massage, the Thai method uses point
pressure, muscle stretching, and compression, done in a rhythmic movement of gentle rocking.
Through deep muscle stretching, joint release, and emphasis on breath, Thai massage offers
many of the same benefits as yoga, but its uniqueness is that you remain passive while the
practitioner does the movements to you and encourages you to relax more effectively.
