Amrit Yoga: (All Levels)
Amrit Yoga is meditation in motion.  This yoga style cultivates the practice of postures
and pranayama as well as inward focus and meditative awareness
.  Vigorous practice
combined with moments of internal focus engages the physical body as well as its subtle
bodies so that practitioners experience the physical as an entry point into deep and potentially
transformative self-exploration.  The Amrit sequence consists of breathwork, a warm-up
exercise, sun salutations, 28 classical yoga postures (a 60-minute class explores fewer),
and final relaxation.

Anusara Yoga: (All Levels)
Anusara
means “flowing with Grace,” “going with the flow,” and “following your heart.”
This style of hatha yoga was founded by John Friend in 1997.  The Tantric philosophy of
intrinsic Goodness underlies the teaching methodology and students are guided to enhance
and reveal their intrinsic beauty and Divine qualities that are already present within.  This
type of yoga practice helps build and empower self-esteem while also inspiring light-heartedness,
playfulness and joyful creativity.  Each class has a heart-oriented theme which has a meaningful
spiritual connection to the asana practice.  A concise set of alignment principles are applied to
each asana and movements are coordinated with the breath.  Each practice is a considered to be a
celebration of the heart and ultimately, Anusara Yoga strives for each student to leave class feeling
better about him or herself as well as empowered by the revelation of his or her Supreme nature.

Ashtanga Yoga: (All Levels)
Class is based on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, which is a set sequence of asanas
that transition and flow from one to another connected by vinyasa.  The breath/prana
becomes the key to focusing of the mind during the practice.  The essence of Ashtanga
Yoga is synchronicity of the breath and movement utilizing bandhas or "locks" that
harness and direct the prana.  There is no need to be familiar with the Ashtanga
Primary Series or any previous Yoga experience.  Modifications and advanced postures
will be taught so that all student feel safely challenged.

Beginners & Beyond Yoga:   (All Levels)

skeptics.  She likes to set the tone for each class with a theme and connects to her
students by being mindfully present.

Indirya gives adjustments in poses to help further deepen your experience.  She
believes that the real power of yoga is contained in the breath and when combined
with movement, healing can occur.

Kirtan:   (All Levels)
Kirtan is yogic singing – a way of connecting your physical body with the divine through
sound vibration.  As many yoga systems build a strong, flexible and healthy body, the
practice of kirtan strengthens the voice while giving the inside of the body a vibrational
massage.  In kirtan practice a call-and-response format is used, with a leader chanting a
phrase (typically in Sanskrit) and the rest of the group repeating the phrase.  Participants
may reach an ecstatic state, but at the very least they will have engaged in a very simple,
free and direct form of yoga.

Kids Classes: $11 Per Person Drop-In Fee OR $25 per month
Instructors: Steven (Dentista) Young of Grupo Unidade Capoeira, Larry
(Moleque) Watts, & Nicholas (Gringo Macumbero) Helmick.
Capoeira is a martial art created by African slaves transported to Brasil
500 years ago.  It was created in secret as a means for the slaves to protect
themselves.  In order to fool the slavemasters, Capoeira was disguised as a
ritual dance, this allowed Capoeiristas to play in plain view of their owners,
as it was illegal under penalty of imprisonment and/or death, for slaves to
practice the martial arts.  Today, Capoeira is a rich cultural experience with
exchanges of ideas of peoples from all over the world.  Capoeira is "played",
from the United States of America to South Africa, from the European Union
to Japan and just about everywhere in between.  Capoeira can be highly
energetic a
nd powerful to calm and serene.  Capoeira is a lifetime of discipline,
showing respect to the culture that spawned it, to the nation that cultivated it,
to those who came before us, and to those we will teach that will follow us on
the path of Axe.
